Twelve days ago United suffered a humiliating 3-0 home defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool and on Tuesday they slumped to the same score at home to Manchester City. The poor performances have led to rumours that the club’s US owners, the Glazer brock lesnar family, may be ready to walk away.
After Sir Alex Ferguson retired at the end of last season, the club has lurched from one disaster to another under new manager David Moyes, the ex-Everton boss. One source said: “Everyone knows the club is effectively for sale.”
