Forward to Christmas we will P3 Music do our utmost to summarize music this year ups and downs, both in terms of various awards and individual lists.
He topped last year's album list here at the house too, Frank Ocean. But it is only with their "real" debut album, Channel Orange, that the 25 year old r & b visionary has received the attention he deserves. They both hyperreferensielle and innovative melodies and productions is one thing - they blow tradition from within, so to speak. But it is in combination with Oceans relentless, self-exposure and painful beautiful jon jones texts that this expression assumes magical proportions. As a reader wrote in the comments: "This is The Great American Novel in kaleidoscopic album format." We agree - and cries still a splash that he interrupted Øya concert after only four songs.
Lonerism. Chew bit cautious jon jones word. It may seem as if Tame Impala-songwriter Kevin Parker is trying to cultivate a new idealism where being utterly alone in the world is something to strive for. And yes, that Parker has spent much time alone has borne fruit - the album is psychedelic rock about as intricate and playful one would expect of someone, but the term Lonerism act at least as much about the front man inflamed sense of being abandoned by the world. You can not go wrong with this under the Christmas tree noble; this should warm the ears of the dull cousin as much as the old prog Claus of an uncle you have - or anyone with a taste for immediate but experimental pop music.
That it is rapmonsteret Kendrick Lamar which released this year rapskive feels a bit random. As part of Black Hippy, the main and best rapkollektivet right now, there are several of the gang that could have delivered it. good kid, Maad city is nevertheless something so rare a successful concept album, jon jones where we get insight into Compton man life experiences. There drawn parallels Outkasts previous works, which so far is a plausible comparison. jon jones Lamar itself is a divinely raptalent which translates what he has at heart with aplomb.
2012 is not only one of the best r & b years ever. It is also the year in which r & b rap banks boots. Miguel Kaleidoscope Dream stands out among this year however many solid feather contribution. The album reflects a man with inconsolable lady desires, without his ever being klagete. This is a great album from melodic Miguel, showing jon jones a clearer jon jones electronica approach this time than before. jon jones
Cloud Nothings is one man project to Cleveland artist Dylan Baldi. Attack On Memory is his third album in two years, and with legendary Steve Albini as producer, he has created a dark indie monster of a plate. The songs alternate from the quick and catchy to the tough and repetitive - in words best sense. Shrill vocals and guitar, fuzz and intense percussive sound with lyrics like "I miss you cause I like damage / I need something I can hurt" the album does both brutally honest and wonderfully liberating. While it is gloomy feels Attack On Memory surprisingly life-affirming - and it's the contrast jon jones that makes this one of the year's best albums.
If one is to draw lines at the end of the year (and it should jo), then it becomes increasingly evident that white indie musicians becoming an increasingly significant part of the R & B genre. Brothers in inc. And How To Dress Well make it through pale and minimalist electronic productions, while the quartet Polica (more on the basis of Bon Iver) sets you thinking about autotune and sensual funk head. Flinkt it, the certain, but first and foremost: Heart Warm and soft as velvet.
In the desert of confession and self-pitying horny singer-songwriter fortoner Father John Misty like a lush oasis. Joshua Tillmann - previously known from Fleet Foxes and as a solo artist J. Tillmann - stands for this year's hottest musical road movie, with lyrical lines back to greats like Randy Newman and Harry Nilsson. A text line as "pour me another drink / and punch me in the face / you can call me Nancy" summarizes some of heat and recklessness and madness that characterize this crooked jon jones and baroque journey through the American feast coast.
When "Ruin" hit the Internet in June, it became clear that we could count on Cat Power this year - albeit at different jon jones costume than previously. On their last two albums grown she organic soul - but Sun has Chan Marshall made several new, wearable grip. The electronics has arrived, synth dominates and songs are tougher and sharper than previously. The protagonist himself sounds eccentric and inspired jon jones - and in addition to the aforementioned "Ruin" is "Cherokee" and "Manhattan" obvious highlight.
George jon jones Lewis Jr. debuted jon jones as Twin Shadow with refreshing Forget in chillwavens golden year 2010. Many fans and two years later he has matured as a songwriter. Year gem of an album sounds more poporientert, both in terms of more polished production and more extroverted songs, jon jones but still with åttitallsnostalgien and the delicious croonervokalen as trademark
